New Semester Comes!

How did you celebrate your new year?

Mungkin dirimu telah mereka-reka rencana. Mungkin dirimu telah membuat daftar target yang lalu kau tempel di cermin kamarmu sebagai reminder. Dirimu pastinya telah tahu bahwa small fire doesn’t heat much so that you need to see that reminder every day. Dengan demikian, kau akan diingatkan pada rencana yang ingin kau capai. The most important thing is that, setiap kali kau melihatnya, you intensify the fire so that it can heat more. Qoliilan fa qoliilan fatsaaro jibaalan, kata mahasiswa prodi Bahasa Arab di kampusku. Dan mungkin saja, dosenmu akan mengatakan: Reinforcement atau barangkali visualization exercise!

Yang kutahu, adalah penting menuliskan sebuah rencana dan melihatnya secara berkala (bukan kala-kala lihat dan ala-kala tidak). Atau jika mungkin setiap hari kita harus melihatnya. Kita akan merasakan sebuah hidden power menyergap menyodok subconscious mind, lalu seolah ada ribuan semut berjalan mendaki tengkuk. We’re trembling! And by the time we close our eyes, we realize one thing: if we fail to plan, we’re planning to fail. Rencana, rencana! Betapa tipis bedanya dengan Bencana. May be we can’t control obstacles (bencana), but surely we can make a plan (rencana) in order to face the obstacles!

And how did you celebrate the Valentine Day?

I know that most of you did nothing special on that day. You know love should be in the air every single second in that Valentine Day is a mere celebration for those who want to know more about love history. There’s no need to blame those who celebrate the day. Once we blame them, we have sent them a massage that we don’t appreciate the way they appreciate love. I really have no idea if love and hatred can grow together in the hearts of the so-called true lovers! Bagian yang ini kok kayaknya gak nyambung ama paragraph sebelumnya. Tapi ya kalau mau dihubung-hubungkan sih ya pasti ada caranya, belum ketemu aja (ada yang mau bantu gak?).

Jadi ingat slogan acara humor di TV: Di sini gunung di sana gunung, di tengah-tengah pulau Jawa: biar sama-sama bingung, asal kita ketawa he he he he…. Zaman kita adalah zaman selebrasi dan seremoni….and who knows…mungkin saja kelak aka ada perayaan New Semester!!! Happy New Semester!!!!!
